Corrosion resistance of AISI 316/316L stainless steel ball
Excellent corrosion resistance in contact with organic substances, good resistance also to contact with most acids (including acetic, phosphoric and sulphuric acid) and in marine environments. Subject to pitting and pore corrosion in the presence of hot and corrosion chlorides under load if temperature exceeds 60°C. Not resistant to contact with hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid, treat water, iron chloride and magnesium.
